The boards are then planed and thicknessed before we shape, sand and finish each piece by hand.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr\u003eWe love working with spalted beech because no two pieces are ever the same. The natural markings, knots, colour changes and beautiful grain are all part of the character of the wood. We work with what the tree gives us rather than trying to make every board look the same.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr\u003eEach board is sanded with care and finished with organic food grade oils, then sealed with beeswax from our own bees. This brings out the natural warmth and beauty of the timber while giving it a beautiful, food safe finish.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThese are very special pieces, made slowly and by hand from the tree to the finished board.
